Position Summary

Provide four-handed chairside assistance to dentists. Instruct dental students and dental assistant students in techniques and utilization of four-handed dentistry and infection control. Perform tests; assist with preparing dental castings, dispensing medications and instructions, and performing minor dental and surgical procedures; ensure safe use, disposal, and storage of chemicals or hazardous materials. Maintain patient files and charts. Serve as clinic receptionist and clinic cashier.


Qualifications

Required Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Experience:
1+ years of related experience. Graduate of a Dental Assistant Training Program

Preferred Experience:
1+ years chairside assisting in a private practice

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of four-handed chairside dental techniques and dental lab equipment. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to operate standard office equipment.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Certification as a Dental Assistant. Knowledge of a foreign language (e.g., Spanish, Korean, Chinese).


Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $34.829. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
