Job Description:

Summary

Drives sales growth with existing and prospective customers. Supports and develops sales team members to drive cross-selling with other divisions and lines of business and to achieve optimal results. Seeks out and builds new business relationships.

Essential Functions

This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.

* Contacts prospective customers and persuades them to purchase products and services and identifies opportunities to cross-sell with other divisions and lines of business.

* Directs and assists the sales team in representing and selling products and services and identifying cross-selling opportunities with other divisions and lines of business.

* Directs and follows up on customer service and technical service efforts to support sales and ensures a positive customer experience.

* Maintains strong personal relationships with machine suppliers to ensure sales and profitability goals are mutually met and with decision makers at key accounts.

* Negotiates pricing and terms with the sales team, suppliers and, at times, directly with the customer.

* Provides feedback on equipment performance.

* Provides market requirements (seam spotting, double orientation, screw caps, vision needs).

* Provides feedback on competitors' equipment performance, including technical competitive advantages and pricing intel.

* Manages the complete machinery sales process for bottling still wines, sparkling wines, front-of-the-line, and end-of-the-line dry end packaging.

* Expertise in methode champenoise, tirage and disgorge bottling, along with robotics for bin packing and bottle transfer.

* Provides technical assistance on each piece of packaging or bottling equipment to ensure the correct machine is being quoted (capability and speed).

* Assists on bottling line layouts, functionality, and design feasibility.

* Conducts joint sales calls with staff to facilitate project cohesiveness (examples to include single machine or a complete turn-key bottling line).

* Maintains professional relationships within the industry to enhance reputation as a supplier to be trusted.

* Oversees billing and collection activities.

* Contributes in the development of sales programs, pamphlets, print ads, internet sites, etc., to help promote the Company's objectives.

* Prepares sales reports, sales letters, etc. as needed.

* Oversees preparation of customer quotations.

* Prepares sales forecasts as needed and requested.

* Takes an active role in the S&OP process for business improvement.

* Manages, motivates and assists in the growth of direct reports in the sales organization. Responsible for the sales growth in revenue of direct reports.

* Required to be the specialist in a certain type of product, such as acting as a liaison between sales and the divisional employees and/or educating the sales team. Other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

* Takes accountability for the annual planning process, including pricing, programming, and forecasting sales based on sales related data.

* Develops a successful vision/strategy, through strong leadership skills.

* Participates in department and interdepartmental planning and management teams, and works cross-functionally to improve processes within the organization.

* Owns forecasting of business results and plans strategies to maximize future product sales.

* Develops, maintains and assures adherence to operating budget and spending plan.

* Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental, and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

Supervisory Responsibilities

* Develops, coaches and mentors peers, indirect and subordinate staff.

* If accountable for the work of others, conducts performance evaluations; reviews and communicates salary adjustments; rewards employees or takes disciplinary action, as necessary; addresses complaints and resolves issues.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree plus 10 years of experience in sales reflecting increasing levels of responsibility to include supervisory or managerial experience; Or Bachelor's Degree plus 9 years of G3 experience in sales reflecting increasing levels of responsibility to include supervisory or managerial experience; Or High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 14 years of experience in sales reflecting increasing levels of responsibility to include supervisory or managerial experience; Or High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 13 years of G3 experience in sales reflecting increasing levels of responsibility to include supervisory or managerial experience.

* Required to travel by air and car as needed.

* Candidates for this position must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver's license or appropriate state driver's license within 30 days of hire.

* Experience with MS Work, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Outlook at an intermediate level.

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree and 12 years or experience in Sales Management, preferably to industrial clientele reflecting increasing levels of responsibility to include supervisory or managerial experience.

* Master's degree.

* Experience in selling packaging and processing equipment to the beverage industry.

* Strong communication skills, oral and written.

* Experience maintaining professional and cooperative relationship with all internal and external customers.

* Experience working independently and making sound decisions under demanding time constraints.

* Discretion in handling confidential material.

* Customer driven and a team player.

* Motivational and managerial skills.

Compensation



  1. Hiring Salary Range: $200,000- $250,000
  2. Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
