Primary Location:- Remote- New Jersey area is preferred but those with a successful US track record will be considered.

Job Description:

Amplity is seeking to add to our talented team of professionals, a Director, Business Development for the Amplity Intel data services business unit.This role is primarily responsible for identifying, developing, and winning data services related to new business opportunities in the pharmaceutical / biopharmaceutical commercialization market. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of accomplishment of selling data solutions and gaining access to key decision makers and influencers in the Pharmaceutical / Biotech / Life Sciences data / research / Intel markets. The candidate will play a key role in executing a territory plan and specific account plans to expand Amplity Intel' relationships with industry contacts leading to an expanded footprint.

The candidate will take a consultative approach toward the new business development efforts, gaining a deeper understanding into our prospective clients' data objectives, market trends, data service/product requirements and data/research/Intel pain points. The candidate will proactively develop customized strategies to address data solutions for opportunities; market, consult and close business; interface with client as needed during the implementation phase and follow-up with client on final execution/delivery.

Relocation assistance is not available for this opportunity. Essential /Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Amplity Intel and data services subject matter expert (SME) on introductory calls scheduled by the lead generation operations / teams at Amplity
  • Identify and pursue new Amplity Intel business opportunities based on your own experience and pharma relationships
  • Lead Amplity Intel data services pitch presentations as part of the multi-component proposals presented in collaboration with team members from across Amplity's full spectrum of commercial, remote engagement, medical and cap dev solutions
  • Proactively call on prospective clients within the territory
  • Develop and maintain active new business pipeline to meet and exceed all revenue targets
  • Plan, orchestrate, strategize, and "own" all aspects of the assigned clients'/prospects' data related business development initiatives and activities
  • Develop and implement BD strategic plan for maximizing revenues through prospecting and lead generation
  • Recommend traditional and/or innovative strategies to achieve client data related business objectives
  • Develop and maintain relationships and favorable contacts with current and prospective clients, industry associations, complementary service providers, key decision makers, and influencers across the data services sector of the life sciences industry
  • Develop and present proposals
  • Suggest strategic approaches, proposals, budgets/pricing, and presentations for use in current and prospective client interactions
  • Be the communication channel between clients and internal teams demonstrating a deep knowledge of data and analytics
  • Critically review data results/reports and work with clients and internal teams on multiple iterations when needed to assure project objectives are achieved
  • Present data results/reports to clients and answer questions as needed as the expert on the report

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent experience.
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • Deep understanding of traditional data sets such as prescription data, claims data and EMR data
  • Established relationships within the data services sector of the pharmaceutical and biotech marketplace especially in commercial, marketing, brand management, sales and HEOR
  • Experience working in the data services sector or similar in the life sciences industry in roles with progressively increasing responsibilities in either Sales and/or Business Development, 8-10 years preferred.
  • Documented/proven record of accomplishment of successful sales/business development efforts
  • Demonstrated ability to access key decision makers/influencers that can drive strategy and data purchases
  • Excellent working knowledge of data services approaches and executions
  • Knowledge of data services / research / Intel structures, responsibilities, and hierarchies in the life sciences industry
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as SalesForce.com and LinkedIn.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly developed planning and organizational skills
  • Strong people management skills and ability to align people and resources towards organizational success
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver data solutions in a changing environment
  • Keeps abreast of data industry trends and identifies new strategies to address
  • Preferably resides in New Jersey area but will consider strong candidates from other US cities
  • Willingness to travel 30%
