Temporary
staff employees are ineligible to receive benefits (leave, health coverage,
State service credit, etc.). They are, however, covered by Worker's
Compensation provisions.

However, any non-permanent employee hired to work 30 or more hours per week for three months or more (cumulative of all positions, and not designated as variable hour worker), must be offered the chance to enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan, within 30 days of their eligibility. Any non-permanent employee hired to work less than 30 hours per week (cumulative of all positions, or designated as variable hour worker - i.e. student workers) are measured during designated measurement periods. If they average 30 or more hours per week over a designated measurement period, they will be offered the chance to enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan, and will be notified of instructions.

Work Schedule
M-F 7:00am-12:30pm OR 12:30 pm- 6:00pm - This will be two (2) positions, one working the am shift and one working the pm shift - may be required to cover both shifts due to staffing emergencies.
Pay Rate $18.00
Minimum Experience/Education

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in customer service, camp programs, or educational settings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and social media platforms
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated experience in effective communication with parents and families
  • Proficiency in conflict resolution strategies
  • For new applicants: 2 professional references from a past or current employer
  • Valid driver's license - required to pass an online van certification test and a road test
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check- required to complete Youth Protection Training
  • Must be available for mandatory orientation training (paid) prior to camp season on Saturday, May 31st, 2025

Duties and Responsibilities
Communications:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for parent/guardian inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
  • Draft and distribute newsletters, announcements, and updates to families and staff.
  • Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communications, promoting the camp's values and mission.
  • Monitor and manage camp social media accounts, capturing highlights and engaging the camp community.


Operational Support:

  • Assist with daily attendance tracking.
  • Support scheduling and coordination of camp activities as needed.
  • Promote the safety of campers throughout the day, including safe transportation, potentially utilizing a 15-passenger van for designated locations as an emergency chaperone.

Customer Service:

  • Address parent and staff concerns promptly and effectively, escalating issues as needed to the Associate Directors or Camp Director. (behavioral, safety, illness, emergencies)
  • Provide information about camp programs, schedules, and policies to families.
  • Establish and maintain communication with on-campus and off-campus partners and vendors for camp field trips, space requirements, and special activities.
  • Collaborate with the enrollment management team to support customers with account support.

Other Work/Responsibilities

    • Must be physically capable of lifting objects and campers for loading into vans and car seats, dealing with possible injuries, or assisting campers with disabilities
    • Ability to independently use stairs for safe evacuation during emergencies
    • Drive a 15-passenger van as needed for transporting campers to offsite field trips and across campus
    • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and working outdoors in the heat during assigned shifts throughout the 8-week period
