Job Summary : To act as a health care provider, working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary health team to provide primary care and/or women's health care with the support and collaboration of sponsoring physicians and for Hendricks Regional Health. This individual will perform physical exams, collect and document data, conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consultations, and prescribe appropriate interventions and medications. Additionally, the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will perform care for patients with urogyncological conditions.Job Description Essential Responsibilities: Patient Care: * Conduct detailed patient histories and perform physical exams, focusing on urogynecological conditions. * Diagnose and manage pelvic floor disorders, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and related conditions. * Prescribe medications and recommend non-surgical and surgical treatments. * Perform in-office procedures, such as bladder installations, pessary fittings, urodynamic testing, cystoscopy, biopsies, IUD placement, posterior tibial nerve stimulation, and other urogynecologic procedures (on the job training is provided) * Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests * Explain the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of procedure(s) to patient, family, and staff * Assess patient for change in status and institute appropriate interventions * Initiate necessary emergency interventions to stabilize patient with guidance from physician. * Develops and participates in office and community education * Assists physicians in surgical procedures as needed * Home call 10 days per month to include duties such as answering after-hour patient calls, follow up on testing, addressing in-patient consults, and be available to perform direct patient care when needed. Education and Counseling: * Educate patients about diagnosis, treatment options, and preventative care. * Provide pre- and post-operative counseling and support. * Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients and families. Collaboration: * Work closely with urogynecologists, physical therapists, and other specialists to ensure continuity of care. * Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases. * Serve as a resource for nursing staff and assist in educating staff on urogynecological care. Administrative Duties: * Document patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). * Assist with program development, including patient education materials and protocols. * Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research efforts as needed. * Demonstrates effective time and supply management, supports leadership in implementation of scheduling, and participates in supply change to improve cost effective care. * Seeks assistance from resources to optimize patient care and provides assistance to patients in arranging continuity of care through utilization of community resources. * Completes timely billing for services rendered. Skills and Abilities: * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. * Ability to manage complex cases and provide patient-centered care. * Proficiency with EMR systems and clinical documentation. * Commitment to ongoing education and professional development. Work Environment: * Outpatient clinic setting, with occasional inpatient rounding or OR support. * May involve some travel between clinic locations or outreach facilities. Qualifications: * Master's or Doctorate in Nursing from an accredited program or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program. * Current Nurse Practitioner license or Physician Assistant License and certification in the state of practice (e.g., FNP, WHNP, AGNP). * Specialized experience in women's health, urogynecology, or related field preferred. * Strong clinical and diagnostic skills in urogynecological care. * 5 years of direct patient care experience preferred. Mandatory Licensure/Certifications: 1. Certification from the National Commission of Physician Assistants. 2. Licensed to practice in Indiana. 3. Current licensure by the Indiana State Board of Nurses' Registration and Nursing Education as an active Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.
