Description

Design and specify production tooling, processing operations and parameters to create a finished casting that meets customer requirements and specifications at the lowest cost. Included in this are the design of manufacturing methods and specification of tooling that work within our mold and core-making, pouring, and finishing operations. This position is responsible for taking drawings / CAD data, specifications and financial information from the sales and QA departments and develop a process plan to meet customer's casting requirements while maximizing profitability. This position will work on team-based projects to develop new techniques and procedures to continuously improve the quality and value of our products.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering preferably with a minimum of 2 years of foundry engineering experience in a sand casting plant.

• Tooling design experience is preferred. General computer literacy that includes a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite is required.
• Working knowledge of Quality Assurance systems and procedures and an understanding of Lean Manufacturing are preferred. An understanding of statistical / SPC applications.
• CAD and solidification modeling is a plus.
