Overview

Blue Yonder is seeking a Sr. Manager, Tax Technology to join our dynamic team. This role combines the fields of tax and data science, applying advanced analytics, machine learning, and data processing to drive data-informed decision-making in the tax function. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both technical tax and data science methodologies, with the ability to collaborate across departments and utilize cutting-edge technology to analyze tax data, streamline processes, and uncover insights.

Hybrid role in our Scottsdale, AZ office OR US-Remote

What You'll Do:

• Analyze large sets of structured and unstructured tax data to provide insights and recommendations. Utilize statistical models, machine learning, and data visualization techniques to forecast tax liabilities, identify trends, and optimize tax strategies
• Develop and implement automation tools to improve tax data collection, reporting, and compliance processes. Collaborate with IT teams to integrate tax systems and data platforms
• Use data-driven models to assess potential tax risks, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. Monitor changes in tax legislation and regulations, using data science techniques to assess their impact on the company
• Work closely with internal tax, finance, and legal teams to support tax planning, compliance, and reporting. Present findings and recommendations to senior management in clear, actionable reports
• Ensure the quality, integrity, and security of tax-related data. Establish best practices for data governance and ensure consistency across tax-related datasets
• Stay up to date with the latest developments in both tax and data science. Recommend innovative ways to improve tax-related processes using data analytics

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Tax, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, EA) is a plus
• Proven experience (5+ years) working as a data scientist, tax analyst, or in a similar role involving both data analysis and tax
• Understanding of accounting for income taxes, tax reporting processes, and tax compliance requirements
• Experience with tax software and systems (e.g., ONESOURCE, BNA, etc..) is preferred
• Data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI)
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data sets to derive actionable insights
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team

The base salary range for this position is: $ 120,000.00 - $150,000.00 USD

The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
