PROGRAM SUMMARY

At Columbia Sportswear we offer college students a unique opportunity to join our team and help solve real business problems! Bring your passion and insight to a company that is committed to driving long- term sustainable growth this summer for our 10-week summer internship at our Headquarters in Portland, Oregon! Interns can expect to gain valuable hands-on experience within their department while building partnerships with teams and fellow interns along the way!

  • Location: Portland, OR

  • Duration: ~10 weeks

  • Start Date Options: May 19th- July 25th or June 23rd - August 29th

  • Application Deadline: January 26th, 2025

  • Pay: $22.50/hr

ABOUT THE POSITION

As part of the Digital Engagement Product Intern, you will be at the forefront of reshaping how consumers interact with our brands online and in-store. Our team is where creativity meets technology to forge memorable digital experiences across every imaginable channel.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Research: Understand user and stakeholder problems, converting them into well-researched problem statements.

  • Solutions: Captures user requirements during requirement gathering with stakeholders and creates stories and associated acceptance criteria. Outlines acceptance criteria for various pathways and use cases. Participates in ideation sessions and suggests new ideas and solutions.

  • Delivery: Assists team with value delivery. Triages simple and common site experience and functional issues. Prepare detailed test cases/expected results to perform both Functional and User Acceptance Testing.

  • Documentation: Create user journey maps. Review Product Requirement Documents to identify and report potential risks to existing processes. Review and update existing documentation for business processes as required. Create new documentation where none exists.

  • Measurement: Use data to understand trends in user behavior and product usage to influence strategy. Participates and contributes to data mapping and data transformation activities.

YOU ARE

  • Curious and detail oriented

  • A problem-solver with critical thinking skills

  • An excellent presenter and communicator, both written and verbal

  • Highly organized with solid time management skills

YOU HAVE

  • A minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.7 from an accredited college or university

  • Understanding of UX/UI design principles to create intuitive and visually appealing digital interfaces

  • Makes data-driven decisions, has experiment and learn mindset

  • Self-starter and be able work independently

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Current student with one of the following academic standings: Rising Senior, Senior, Graduate/ MBA student

  • Degree relevant to the internship you are applying for

  • Must be able to participate in 10-week program for either date option provided above

  • Must be able to work onsite at our headquarter location for the duration of the internship- interns will partner directly with their managers regarding expectations to work collaboratively in office specified days of the week

NON-LOCAL CANDIDATE CONSIDERATIONS

  • Relocation assistance & housing is NOT provided- these costs and arrangements would be the responsibility of the intern for the entirety of the program
