The Buyer/Planner position is a key role within our Supply Chain organization. Excellent organizational skills, ability to balance short term priorities, and exceptional analytical skills are a necessity. Key objectives are supporting production and purchasing activities by achieving/exceeding targeted customer service levels at optimal cost and managing inventory levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute production schedule in accordance with MRP requirements
  • Support monthly updates of machine capacity and labor plans for the respective production plant
  • Analyze and act upon weekly exception reports to create and release production work orders
  • Collaborate with the assistant plant manager, production leads and shop floor daily to ensure schedule adherence
  • Plan and execute procurement of raw materials and components from domestic and international suppliers in conjunction with our production activities
  • Monitor and actively manage open purchase orders to optimize inventory levels in a fast-paced business environment
  • Participate in and contribute to the monthly Sales & Operations Planning process
  • Coordinate with Quality to review and improve supplier performance for quality and delivery on regular cadence
  • Support Strategic Sourcing Team in RFQs and cost saving initiatives
  • Proactively report product availability issues to key stakeholders (sales, customer service, etc.)
  • Revise essential system planning data to ensure our SAP is effectively planning future requirements
  • Complete special projects and assignments as requested
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Summary of Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, operations or supply chain preferred or minimum 5 years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain concepts and application
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities
  • Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills (oral & written)

  • Need to possess strong interpersonal skills, work efficiently, independently with accuracy, maintain confidential information, exercise sound judgment, make accurate and timely decisions, the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Position is required to work 5 days a week in the office
