We are hiring a Circulation Assistant to work for a local library. While working here you will have a positive impact on the community by assisting with organizing special events and getting creative while preparing library displays and decorations. If you have phenomenal customer service and interpersonal skills and like engaging with others, this is a position you can thrive in!

Pay: $11 per hour

Schedule: We ask that candidates who apply have flexible availability. Hours of operation are 9 AM - 6 PM, Monday-Friday, and 9 AM - 1 PM Saturday.

While working in this meaningful role, you will operate basic office equipment and use Microsoft Office Suite and Publisher. We ask that candidates be familiar with computers, e-reader tablet technology, and standard library functions, practices, and procedures. Essential Functions for the Circulation Assistant will include but are not limited to:



  • Help patrons in locating materials, using the electronic catalog system and other library equipment
  • Assist with loan requests for books, periodicals, and other materials
  • Shelve materials
  • Straighten shelves and maintain cleanliness and order in the library
  • Identify damaged items
  • Provide basic technology assistance to patrons using the library's computers, network, and printing devices
  • Scheduling of programs such as preschool story time, book or activity clubs, seasonal or holiday displays, and crafting activities
  • Create promotional materials for library programs, such as bookmarks and flyers
  • Visit local businesses, churches, schools, and community organizations to display promotional materials and market library services

Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of related experience (education can be substituted for experience)
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
