Munich Re Facultative and Corporate (MR F&C) was recently created to bundle Munich Re's facultative and corporate business into one global unit. We believe that by aligning our single risk business in one unified team we will better position Munich Re to provide a holistic suite of products and services that meet the growing demands of our clients and broker partners.

The Opportunity

The MRF&C North America Corporate Engineering & Energy Summer Intern will be exposed to a portfolio of construction, energy and power generation accounts and will work with our risk engineers. Additionally, the intern be exposed to sophisticated infrastructure/construction projects, down/midstream energy & power generation companies; obtain a greater understanding of risk engineering; set priorities, support / own decisions that impact the MRF&C team; obtain a comprehension of evaluation of risk - rotating equipment and pressure vessels; and promote the sharing of ideas.

Responsibilities:

Work with Global Loss Control Risk Engineer for Power Generation as the head of LCE Risk Engineering in data integration and adaptive predictive analytics and AI applications

Qualifications :

  • Preferred Majors: Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science
  • Grade Level - Undergraduate students - Rising Junior and Seniors
  • Working and structuring large amounts of data inclusive of utilization of internal & external databases;
  • Utilizing Excel and Matlab platforms in the underwriting and engineering/energy analysis;
  • General office programs
  • Interest in energy, power-generation and risk engineering.

Hybrid working locations include New York, San Francisco and Houston or fully-remote.. The NYC and San Francisco pay has a base range of $23-$24 per hour. The hourly estimate displayed represents the typical hourly range for candidates hired in this position in NYC and San Francisco. Factors that may be used to determine your actual rate will include your undergraduate level, specific skills, how many years of experience you have in comparison to other employees already in this role.
