Overview

Element are currently recruiting for a Senior Safety, Health and Environment Manager to support our BUILT Environment business unit, with locations across the EMEA region.

As a member of the BUILT Environment senior leadership team. this position will partner with business unit leadership and management teams to agree strategic priorities and support the implementation of our SHE program.

Based from the UK, this position reports directly to our Business Unit Vice President and will support multiple locations across the business. This is a great opportunity to join a leading player within the Testing, Inspection and Certification sector, Making Tomorrow Safer Than Today....



Responsibilities

Support Business Leaders to:

    Integrate SHE program into daily operations
  • Understand their role and responsibilities and ensure appropriate resources are in place
  • Provide expertise, guidance and critical challenge
  • Support creation, monitor and report on progress against improvement plans
  • Coach leadership and operations teams
  • Supports documentation of annual improvement plans
  • Coordinating and supporting the SHE Business Partners across our operating divisions
  • Facilitate completion of audits and management system reviews
  • Ensure business units achieve compliance with applicable regulatory and Element SHE program requirements
  • Support mergers, acquisitions and capital expenditure reviews as necessary
  • Assess opportunities for improvement, shares best practice across Element
  • Communicate and engage effectively across all levels
  • Monitors and reports on improvement plan progress to BU VP / EMEA SHE Director
  • Drive SHE focus programs such as safety improvement week


Skills / Qualifications

  • Degree in Risk/ Loss /Safety Management, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or other related fields or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have a strong understanding of country / local safety, health and environmental laws and legislation
  • 8-10 years experience in a Safety, Health and Environmental leadership role with management experience, ideally with EMEA exposure
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal
  • Able to enforce regulations and engage in conflict resolution
  • Capability to analyse data and provide evidence-based recommendations
  • Confident working under stressful situations
  • Strong understanding of governmental safety and health regulations / legislation
  • Driving Licence required due to travel across site
