About the team:

The DevOps team at Capital Rx, can be summed up as being the jack of all trades ensuring seamless operations and fostering collaboration across the software engineering department. We own the infrastructure and ci/cd pipelines which development teams utilize to deliver code to Captial Rx's JUDI platform. The team is also responsible for the production environment which requires knowledge with monitoring, alerting and on-call practices. We are a group which is successful when everyone can learn quickly and be comfortable implementing solutions with limited knowledge to a given problem. The DevOps team performs many functions whether that is tactical operations, providing general solutions for the enterprise or giving guidance or recommendations for individual product teams.

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and effectively manages multiple priorities structured in an agile manner with tight deadlines. This role will emphasize effective communication skills, adaptability to shifting priorities, and the ability to align with the guidance and goals. Daily work will be structured through an agile scrum process, and you will need to be well versed in AWS, terraform, Kubernetes and Python.

While the platform is built and operates primarily within AWS managed cloud services, using AWS Lambda with Python, we do maintain a small footprint in Azure-so familiarity with Azure is beneficial. The role will also own and be responsible for the production environment and require experience with monitoring and alerting operating in an on-call rotation.

Position Responsibilities:




  • Implement new infrastructure components using Terraform



  • Deep collaboration with the software development team and be that SME in

    configuring and modifying components that interface with the infrastructure



  • Design, development, and operation of all automation requirements and

    workflows to support the develop/test/deploy process



  • Monitoring infrastructure resources and processes during the entire lifecycle



  • Continue to iterate Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery improvements

    and ensure efficiency, quality resiliency for all areas of SDLC



  • Provide support along with the software development team for deployed

    components.



  • Perform security testing and reviews following internal procedures and

    guidelines



  • Contribute to the team's roadmap and project planning process, partnering

    with stakeholders to develop business objectives and translate those into

    action



  • Respond to security incidents and perform recovery



  • Assist with IT tasks such as provisioning new users to deployed systems

    through automation



  • Production operations and observability of our customer facing systems



  • Build and maintain applications in Kubernetes (K8S)



  • Participate in a production on-call rotation with PagerDuty, sharing responsibilities with the team.



  • Responsible for adherence to the Capital Rx Code of Conduct including reporting of noncompliance.




Minimum Qualifications:

What you'll bring:




  • Boundless curiosity and a demonstrable ability to learn.



  • A product development mindset when delivering new components.



  • Experience working on large scale systems.



  • Experience with release processes and tooling.



  • Experience with different deployment strategies.




Minimum 5 years for the following:



  • Must have hands on experience with python

  • Must have hands on experience with Infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred)



  • Must have hands on experience with Kubernetes.



  • Must have hands on experience with AWS



  • Strong application and systems observability experience.





Base Salary: $130,000 - $160,000
