The A.A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), affiliated with Harvard Medical School, is one of the premier brain imaging research centers in the world.
The Research Technician (RT) works in a histology/histopathology laboratory directed by Dr. Jean Augustinack. The focus of our laboratory is mapping the healthy human brain and investigating Alzheimer's disease especially its preclinical phase. This position will concentrate on validating neuroimaging but also investigate the cellular pathology in the human medial temporal lobe in Alzheimer's disease with tissue-based methods. The RT is responsible for preparing and processing human tissue specimens, performing histology and pathology protocols, manual MRI labeling, and running quantitative/semi-quantitative data analyses. The RT is responsible for detailed recordkeeping, making figures, and writing publications.
