Joining STV's Buildings Group, you will work closely with national market sector leaders, area managers, and other discipline leads to deliver comprehensive architecture, engineering, planning, and design services. Our market sectors span across aviation, corporate and commercial, education, healthcare, civic/justice facilities, and transportation hubs and stations.

You will have the opportunity to design and develop state-of-the-art airport facilities, create innovative and sustainable office spaces, develop cutting-edge educational facilities, design healthcare environments that promote healing, build civic and justice facilities that serve communities, and design efficient transportation hubs that enhance connectivity.

What you'll be contributing to in this role:

  • Leadership and Strategy: Develop and communicate the strategic vision for the Architectural Discipline within the firm, aligning our design culture with STV's overall goals and objectives. The role will have responsibility for mentoring and advising a team of architects/engineers and provide a senior-level depth of industry experience.

  • Project Delivery: Responsible for ensuring technical quality nationally through project reviews, training & mentoring. Offering your expertise and technical guidance on complex design and constructability issues. You will promote the implementation and enforcement of BIM and design technology standards, best practices, and project team workflows with a focus on quality assurance and quality control.

  • Team & Discipline Development: Provide input towards hiring, development, and retention of staff, capture and share discipline knowledge, and elevate STV through leadership in industry organizations and publications. With your national leadership, you'll play an important role in growing our team and skills, advancing technical knowledge and practices.

  • Business Development: Collaborate on pursuits, proposals, and resource allocation to ensure successful project outcomes. Engage with clients to understand their needs and ensure their vision is realized in the design.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Licensure: You'll be a Registered Architect (RA) and ideally hold membership with AIA/NCARB associations with the ability to be registered across all states.

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree with 20+ years of career experience in Architectural and Engineering Design.

  • Diverse Portfolio: You will have a diverse portfolio dominated by building projects aligned with our core market sectors, with demonstrated experience in constructability, building systems, and creating clear design and construction documents.

  • Technical Expertise: High degree of technical expertise on large-scale, complex building projects across the spectrum of design-build, design-bid-build, Integrated Project Delivery, and P3, with a knack for identifying and bringing the right teams together.

  • Contractual Knowledge: Familiarity with contractual document requirements, industry standards, and risk management with signing and sealing responsibilities.

  • Collaboration: A true collaborator who can work closely with specialized engineers to integrate diverse perspectives into the design process.

  • People Leadership: Developed people leadership experience with skills in motivating and influencing a culture of continuous improvement and innovation that raises the firm's capabilities.

  • Time Allocation: Balance your time between external activities such as business development, industry engagement, and client relationships (-30%) with the intent for your internal activities be the priority (70+%) such as project execution and performance, while growing and developing the careers of our talented architects across the country.

Compensation Range:

$207,685.75 - $259,607.18
