Position Overview:

Responsible for managing distributor accounts by providing customer service, coordinating product requirements, processing orders, scheduling shipments, and assisting distributors with their daily needs as they work with Knapheide.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Serve as a liaison to our distributor customers and be an information resource for the following:

    • Product availability
    • Product compatibility
    • Expediting orders
    • Processing orders
    • Providing Order status
    • Coordinating Shipment schedule
    • Providing Shipment updates
    • Resolving pricing discrepancies


  • Manage the order entry process by accepting sales orders, evaluating availability, and entering orders based on the availability
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with assigned distributors
  • Collaborate with load coordinator to configure distributor loads so they deliver in a timely manner
  • Manage and provide direction to shipping dock whether to backorder or hold loads that are delayed
  • Problem solve and investigate shipping discrepancies reported by the distributor
  • Coordinate with Truck Pool and Fleet Departments on shipments of product to distributor locations and installation facilities
  • Be proactive and follow up to resolve all distributor issues
  • Assist Product Support/Warranty with product warranty issues as required
  • Analyze and recommend inventory levels by models as needed. Follow and report market trends for area of responsibility


Position Requirements:



  • Become knowledgeable of Knapheide products and assist customers in identifying what they need
  • Strong analytical reasoning and problem solving ability
  • Customer focused and prompt responsiveness
  • Ability to identify and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Multi task and work on multiple tasks at one time
  • Team player, self-starter and capable of gaining customer's confidence as their best supplier in handling their needs
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers while paying close attention to detail
  • Apply working knowledge of PC's including Excel and Word
  • Associate's degree or customer service related experience preferred


Physical/Mental Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Functions of the Position:

Normal standing, walking and lifting in an office environment. Prolonged periods of sitting and telephone usage.
