Senior Director of Supply Chain Job Summary: The Senior Director of Supply Chain is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's logistics, supply chain, and distribution operations. This role will drive strategic initiatives to optimize the flow of goods, ensure operational excellence in both supply chain and distribution center functions, and support the company's long-term growth objectives. The VP of Supply Chain will lead a high-performing team, manage domestic and international supply chains, oversee logistics strategies, and ensure seamless integration between sourcing, inventory, and distribution. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership and Integration
Develop and implement logistics and supply chain strategies that align with the company's business objectives and revenue goals.
Oversee coordination between supply chain operations and distribution center activities.
- Establish performance metrics and track effectiveness across all logistics functions.
Team Leadership and Development
- Build, lead, and mentor teams across supply chain management and distribution center operations.
- Foster a high-performance culture that emphasizes accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Implement training programs to enhance team capabilities in logistics, inventory management, and safety.
Supply Chain Operations Management
- Oversee management of international and domestic supply chains, including procurement, vendor relationships, and shipping logistics.
- Develop contingency plans and diversify supplier networks to mitigate risks.
- Optimize inventory levels to meet customer demands while minimizing costs.
Distribution Center Operations
- Oversee all activities within the 250,000-square-foot distribution center, including receiving, inventory, picking, packing, shipping, and quality control.
- Optimize warehouse layout, workflows, and resource utilization to drive operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards while maintaining a safe working environment.
Logistics & Packaging Innovation
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external consultants to improve product packaging for overseas product shipments, that balances shipping efficiency and customer experience.
- Streamline container management, reduce logistics costs, and improve delivery timelines.
Vendor and Supplier Relationship Management
- Establish strategic partnerships with vendors and carriers to ensure competitive pricing, reliable delivery, and high-quality service.
- Conduct performance evaluations and negotiate contracts to align with company goals.
Budget and Resource Management
- Prepare and manage budgets for logistics and distribution operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining high standards.
- Manage all resource planning; including equipment, technology, and personnel, to support growth objectives.
Technology and Process Optimization
- Leverage advanced supply chain systems (WMS, ERP, TMS) to enhance visibility and efficiency.
- Utilize data analytics to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve decision-making.
- Drive automation and innovation initiatives within logistics operations to support future growth.
Qualifications: Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
Experience:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, or distribution management, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience in managing large-scale operations, including international supply chains and high-throughput distribution centers.
- Experience opening and implementing processes for new distribution centers strongly preferred.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities with a focus on employee development.
- Expertise in supply chain and warehouse management systems (e.g., WMS, ERP, TMS).
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
