This tailored program will provide valuable work experience, career coaching, and mentorship. As an Intern, you can expect to: Join Southwest as a Summer 2025 Intern, with a 12-week internship lasting from May 20th to August 8th, 2025. Work fully remote, with opportunities to connect with your Team and other workgroups virtually and potential to travel to visit our Corporate Campus in Dallas, Texas. There is limited group of states or localities ineligible for Employees to regularly perform their workoff-site. Those ineligible locations are Alaska, California, Colorado, Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota,Vermont, West Virginia, Washington, and Wyoming. If you currently reside in an ineligible state, you may relocate to an eligible state and be considered for an internship Dedicate 40 hours each week to your internship responsibilities and tasks. Receive hourly pay of $31 and receive a one-time $2,000 stipend (Paid $1,000 on first paycheck and $1,000 at midpoint of internship) Receive free, unlimited space available travel privileges for yourself (taxes and fees may apply on international travel). A Job Coach will be available as a resource to support you during the interview process, as well as throughout the internship. Interns will be provided any required equipment, such as a laptop, for the internship. The Intern will work full-time as a Cybersecurity Analyst Intern within the Technology Department. The Intern may be asked to support a variety of projects within the following Team: Cybersecurity Cybersecurity Training, Education & Awareness Team: The Cybersecurity Intern will work on the Training, Education & Awareness (TEA) Team to drive a proactive cybersecurity culture by empowering all roles and all our People to be vigilant and informed against relevant cyber threats/risks through impactful education, strategic training, and engaging communication. The Intern will help support and analyze the ethical phishing program to develop several campaigns this summer for the enterprise. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Cybersecurity Intern may include but are not limited to: Work with business Customers to conduct needs analysis relative to systems and business processes in order to create quality technical solutions. Ensure solutions are aligned with internal tooling, and business strategies and comply with departmental standards. Manage timeframes for designing, coding, testing, and implementing to ensure solutions are delivered on time and within budget. Serve as a resource to ensure effective communications between business and Technology Teams. Participate in systems and acceptance testing. Scope of work varies depending on the Team assignment. Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required Must be at least 18 years of age Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986 You must have a valid U.S. Social Security Number to complete the full hiring process This position requires authorization to work in the United States as a permanent employee without sponsorship now or in the future Education: Progress toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in Cybersecurity, Management Information Systems (MIS), Business, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or Information Technology, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering or Business-related degree required. Progress towards a 4-year undergraduate degree preferred To be eligible, you must be currently enrolled as a full-time or part-time student (minimum of 6 hours) as defined by your university at the time of application and during the internship At least one semester remaining at the time the internship ends is preferred Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of application Knowledge, Skills, Work Style & Abilities: Basic knowledge of technical environment required. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required. Experience or exposure to eDirectory, Active Directory, Self Service Password Reset, RSA IG&L, Micro Focus IDM, CyberArk, and Ping is preferred. Basic knowledge of information security and risk mitigation principles, theories, and techniques preferred. Basic knowledge of business analysis, process modeling and redesign is preferred. Exposure to Agile methodologies preferred. Coursework or experience related to Cybersecurity preferred. Previous analyst internship, work experience, or project work in a classroom environment within the past 12 months preferred. Experience solving business problems in a capstone or case competition preferred. Ability to stay organized and manage multiple and concurrent assignments under tight deadlines. Time Commitment and Pay: Required: Full-time 40hrs a week Must maintain a consistent weekly schedule during normal business hours at a max of 8hrs per day.
