Description

A postdoctoral research scientist position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Milenna van Dijk. We study neurobiological, genetic and environmental mechanisms underlying intergenerational risk of and resilience to depression, integrating data from basic neuroscience with neuroimaging and genetics. The Postdoc will work on a funded NIMH project on hippocampal mechanisms of intergenerational depression. Projects will involve computational and statistical analyses of existing datasets. The overarching aim of projects in the lab is to develop mechanistic insights into depression development and prevention in youth that can be translated into steering prevention efforts to at-risk youth. Additional information about the research can be found at www.milennavandijk.com.

The ideal candidate should be exceptionally motivated, creative, highly collegial, and excited about scientific discovery and the prospect of translating basic insights into better understanding the cumulative factors that result in depression development.
