This is a remote or hybrid opportunity preferably based near our corporate offices in Merrimack, NH, or Boston or New York metropolitan areas. This role requires travel at a routine frequency of up to 50%.

Job Summary:

The Government focused Business Development Manager for CNXN Helix, works independently with little or no direct supervision under guidance of the Helix Center leader, utilizing independent judgement and discretion in selection, development and coordination of methods within a broad framework. The BDM Helix requires a dynamic and innovative approach to supporting the company's AI initiatives. The BDM Helix is primarily responsible for formulating and executing a rolling 3-year strategy, focused on 3 critical IT growth areas: AI, AI DevSecOps, and/or AI Cyber Analytics. The BDM is accountable for developing an account plan and qualifying a pipeline to support the pursuit of new information technology and related business services, adhering to Helix corporate policies and procedures. The BDM Helix manages the full opportunity lifecycle including identification and qualification of opportunities, development and maintenance of the opportunity pipeline, development of customer-focused solutions, development and maintenance of customer relationships, and working with executive staff to obtain opportunity pursuit approvals.

Responsibilities:

  • Formulates and executes strategy, pipeline development, and other activities to win new business.
  • Ensures that Helix is viewed as a key partner across multiple markets, and helps position Helix favorably in the eyes of both the customer and teaming partners.
  • Owns the development and execution of an account strategy and pipeline while making recommendations for modifications when necessary.
  • Identifies opportunities with high win potential, qualifying opportunities, and working with our capture and delivery teams to win deals.
  • Leads teams to develop and deliver on a pipeline of opportunities that align with Helix growth market of AI Solutions and Technology Services such as AI DevSecOps, cloud, AI Cybersecurity, AI/ML, and Data Analytics.
  • Oversees the development and execution of customer call plans for opportunities, assessing the competitive landscape, and applying knowledge of leading competitors to foster the development and implementation of an effective and differentiated win strategy.
  • Coaches others and provides business development advice to delivery leads as necessary.
  • Aides in the negotiation of teaming agreements, contracts, and proposal development.
  • Develops and briefs bid/no-bid recommendations, pursuit and capture strategies for new business opportunities and associated business cases for advancing opportunities that will grow the business base.
  • Using strong client management skills, including the ability to develop and maintain lasting relationships with government and industry partners through daily interactions to gain valuable intelligence and insights and subsequently position Helix as a trusted partner to customers.
  • Manages responses to government market research inquiries (e.g., RFIs, Sources Sought Notices, etc.), attend industry events and participate in thought leadership initiatives.
  • Shapes acquisition strategies by leveraging client relationships, company capabilities and experience, partners, and contracting vehicles.
  • Provides regular pipeline and opportunity updates to key stakeholders and members of the extended team as required.
  • Contributes regularly to the Helix body of content, including authoring blog posts and participating in podcasts.
  • Represents Helix at industry events, partner conferences, and sales enablement meetings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree strongly preferred in business, IT, engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of business development and capture experience with demonstrated success developing a qualified new business pipeline and winning new business.
  • Federal, Higher Ed, Healthcare, Retail, Manufacturing, and/or Financial Services market experience required. Strong familiarity with federal acquisition regulations, policies, and contract vehicles strongly preferred.
  • At least one IT-specific certification (e.g., Certification: CompTia, Microsoft, AWS, ISSE, ISSO, IAM-I to III, IAT-I to III, CIAM, CIMP, etc.).
  • Demonstrated understanding of the emerging tech landscape (leaders, initiatives, drivers, stakeholders, etc.).
  • Demonstrated success in identifying, qualifying and helping organizations win contracts, especially with large enterprise clients.

    • Ability to identify key growth areas and develop new IT business aligned with the company's growth strategy and campaign.
    • Ability to lead/influence interdisciplinary teams with varying levels of experience.
    • Ability to manage customer relationships to drive next steps and maximize business opportunities.

  • Knowledge of competitors and the ability to model competitor behaviors in the market.
  • Strong contract management, negotiation & influencing skills.
