Shipping and Receiving Coordinator

The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator to assist with the shipping and receiving functions of the lab.

SDL supports a variety of missions, including NASA's vision to reveal the unknown for the benefit of humankind and the Department of Defense's aim to protect our nation on the ground, in the air, and in space. Our sensors, satellites, software systems, and science and engineering play an essential role in some important missions you've heard of, and others that you haven't. Key Responsibilities:
  • Assists with domestic and international shipping and receiving. This includes the functions of shipping and receiving, material handling and packaging, inventory management, record keeping, and scheduling
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weights, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, purchase order, or other records
  • Prepares shipping documents
  • Checks material and equipment received for possible damage
  • Photographs and barcodes incoming equipment
  • Processes, delivers, and picks up incoming and outgoing mail
  • Enters data
  • Applies and enforces safety, environmental and company processes/procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Must be self-motivated, possess good organizational skills, ability to pay attention to detail, and have good professional interaction skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Well-developed computer skills including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and web browsers
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and work effectively to meet changing business needs
  • Ability to safely lift a minimum of 30 pounds
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must be a US citizen, lawful permanent resident of the US, or other US person


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with shipping and/or receiving in a commercial environment
  • Knowledge of shipping hazardous materials (HAZMAT)
