We have an opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our New Product Introduction team located in Apex, NC. You will plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes, as well as utilize project management skills to implement new operational processes, equipment, and tooling. You will participate in and occasionally lead, kaizen events, lean work cell design, DFM, and DFA activities.

You will:

  • Work as part of a group to implement lean principles & prepare manufacturing documentation (JSA / SOP / Std Work)
  • Participate in PFMEA (Process, Failure, Mode, Effects, Analysis) and Quality improvement activities.
  • Utilize lean thinking in order to design operational layout, process flow, and labor efficiency while implementing state of the art ergonomic and safety standards.
  • Conceptualize, design, fabricate and deploy manufacturing equipment & tooling focused on safety, quality, and cost.
  • Focus on work plans that align with space requirements, workflow, and staff utilization with an emphasis on maximum efficiency.
  • Communicate project status to stakeholders and follow up to ensure project results are sustained.

Key Qualifications:

  • Have earned at least a bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Lean knowledge preferred.
  • Be able to work globally with engineering staff in numerous remote locations while respecting & understanding differing cultures.
  • Experience with controls PLCs, robotics, AGV's AMH, AMR's, HMI's, DC tools, vision systems, Allen-Bradley and Mitsubishi is preferred.
  • Experience in a high-volume production environment
  • Have excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Have a high level of self-motivation and urgency and demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel 25% is preferred as demand requires.

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $71,000- $131,800 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs.

This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus.
