Summary: Performs clerical and technical duties under general supervision, reporting to a Laboratory Supervisor. Duties include managing patient specimens (receipt, accessioning, centrifugation, decanting) and clinician communication.
Essential Functions:
Specimen Management:
Label, preserve, and fix specimens.
Work closely with technologists to ensure accurate and timely processing.
Organize patient specimens and related documentation for review and testing.
Administrative Support:
Use Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for data entry and document uploads.
Inventory and Maintenance:
Monitor reagent and supply levels.
Clean and maintain laboratory equipment.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Licenses and Credentials

Experience
Previous laboratory, healthcare and/or customer service experience 1-2 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Good interpersonal and communication skills so as to be able to interact effectively with individuals in the lab and the hospital.
- Ability to multitask and work accurately under stress of time constraints and heavy workload demands.
- Demonstrates excellent dependability, reliability, accuracy, prioritization ability, problem solving skills, customer service and teamwork.
