The Patient Services Coordinator III - Operations Support, works under the supervision of the Practice Manager and is responsible for handling the administrative operations that support the practice. This role also provides coverage for patient-facing roles in a high-volume, ambulatory setting. Administrative *Works collaboratively with patients, staff, clinicians, and managers to determine needs and solve problems. *Provide administrative support to providers, including correspondence on behalf of physicians. *Notifies leadership of any issues with the environment, computers, printers, or office equipment. *Assists in training and orientation of new coordinators and staff. *Performs all duties and responsibilities of a Patient Service Coordinator I and II. *Other tasks as assigned. Operations Support *Resolves returned referrals in a timely manner. *Manages and works the order-based scheduling work queue. Patient Care Support *Managing work queues, referrals, and Patient Gateway messages Financial *Possesses general knowledge of HMO, managed care, and other third-party insurers. *Verifies insurance coverage and alignment with the correct PCP. Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Experience office experience 3-5 years required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Strong technology and MS Office skills - Advanced Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint Knowledge of office operations and standards and understanding of office procedures including filing, copying, scanning, printing and faxing. - Ability to use phone system and manage more non-routine phone calls and solve routine issues as appropriate. - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience and Talking to others to convey information effectively. - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents, to correspond and communicate with others clearly and effectively (including composing/editing e-mail, memos and letters), and to take complete and accurate messages. - Managing one's own time and the time of others. - Well organized and good time management skills to manage multiple tasks effectively, follow established protocols, and work within systems. - Ability to proofread and edit written documents.
