Murfreesboro Rehabilitation Hospital is hiring a Part-Time Rehab Admissions (License Required - PT, OT, ST, COTA, PTA, RN or LPN) to be a part of our fast-paced and dedicated, innovative team with a highly experienced, new Director of Rehab. Specializing in neuro and ortho, our patients are referred by outside hospitals in surrounding areas to our in-patient setting. We offer occupational, physical, speech, and respiratory therapy, in addition to other services like IV therapy, wound care, and rehabilitation nursing. Our goal is to improve the quality of life by treating patients who are recovering from injury, illness, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, stroke or disabled patients through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. Our rehabilitation hospital has a large therapy gym with state-of-the-art equipment and an "activities of daily living area" which includes a kitchen and laundry area. Patients receive focused care and comprehensive support they need throughout their journey to improved health. Murfreesboro Rehabilitation Hospital is located within TrustPoint Hospital offering the only acute, hospital-based inpatient physical rehabilitation in Rutherford County. PURPOSE STATEMENT: Primarily responsible for the admission and/or registration of patients into the facility and maintaining communication between the organization and the patient referrals and family. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Review prospective admissions against approved admission criteria, policies and procedures. * Initiate contact to gather required clinical and demographic data from patient and other sources. * Respond promptly to inquiry calls. * Schedule assessments. * Conduct pre-admission assessments. * Assist prospective patients and significant others in seeking treatment. * Refer inquiries to other agencies and community resources when not appropriate for facility assistance or admission. * Coordinate with referral sources. * Coordinate transportation arrangements for patients. * Responsible for maintaining all the documentation involved with the admissions process. OTHER FUNCTIONS: * Perform other functions and tasks as assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor's degree required (if state allows). * LPN, RN, Physical Therapist (PT); Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA); Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is required. * 1-2 years experience in an acute clinical setting * Experience in the managed care pre-certification process, level of care asessments and utilization preferred. * Ability to work some weekends is required. LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS: * Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC); Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor (CCDC) or Certified Employee Assistance Program (CEAP) certification preferred. * CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility). * First aid may be required based on state or facility.
