POSITION SUMMARY

The RealTruck Product Management Director is responsible for supporting the growth and development of our accessories business by managing and leading the new product pipeline to drive profitable growth across the portfolio. Responsibilities include product/category segmentation and positioning, defining the competitive landscape, developing plan-to-sell strategies, and managing the product lifecycle roadmap. This leader will create business plans to align departments and achieve category objectives; leverage consumer insights to identify new business opportunities and develop new products; lead category initiatives that deliver profitable growth; manage the product portfolio's productivity; partner with sales and marketing to implement successful product launches across all channels; work closely with internal and external stakeholders in engineering, manufacturing and sourcing to ensure product development success; manage related P&L and product specific cost control initiatives; and provide overall leadership and direction to their team.

CORE FUNCTIONS



  • Provide product category leadership by developing and executing the category business plan
  • Analyze in-market performance and translate that into appropriate actions to drive growth
  • Identify and prioritize gaps and needed updates in the product offering
  • Leverage market analysis and work with research to identify consumer trends and insights related to product
  • Manage new product development projects from business case to launch
  • Define product line logic across category and brands
  • Manage product line lifecycle by identifying existing products to replace/discontinue with new products
  • Maintain category gross margin and EBITDA targets
  • Ensure product category meets yearly financial goals and business objectives


QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 10+ years of product development and related merchandising experience required
  • Experience working with multi-channel and multi-tiered distribution business models preferred
  • Product lifecycle management experience, particularly product launch and channel inventory management, is required
  • Experience managing product with internal owned and operated manufacturing is preferred
  • Track record successfully leading projects that require partnership and alignment with cross-functional teams is required


Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge



  • Skilled in Microsoft office, including Excel and project management solutions
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present to senior level management
  • Adept at identifying new trends and opportunities, evaluating competition, and translating findings into executable consumer product plans.
  • Ability to offer a fresh perspective from a deep understanding of consumer insights and how they relate to product assortments.
  • Success in leading a team of direct reports


Travel



  • Occasional travel will be required; 20-25%.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES



  • This position is a working team member who coordinates, supports, trains, and is a knowledge resource for other team members.
  • This position has between one and four direct reports.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • This position is subject to Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involved sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.


Physical Activities



  • This position is subject to the following physical activities: talking, hearing, and the use of hands, wrists, or fingers in repetitive motions.


Visual Acuity



  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.


Working Conditions



  • This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
