Shared Services: Pre Award- (Full-Time, Day Shift) - Job Summary: The Project Manager-Research Affairs manages projects in the office of the Vice President for Research Affairs (VPRA) that broadly impact research at LLUH. Assists in overseeing the research objectives of LLUH, including implementation of the Research Strategic Plan. Works closely to resolve issues related to the research mission and seeks institutional opportunities. Designs and executes specific initiatives of the research strategic plan and works with executive leadership and others to enhance the research environment at LLUH. Assists the VPRA in management of the Research Affairs operating budget. Manages IT support, software applications, and the web design process for Research Affairs. Performs other duties as needed. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration required. Master's degree preferred. Minimum one year of experience in research affairs, project management, or a related field required. Experience in event planning preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Broad knowledge of policies and procedures governing research and ability to identify and manage risk related to the research enterprise. Able to effectively manage and direct the completion of a project. Read, write legibly, and speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
