Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly-motivated Help Desk Technician to join our IT Department. This candidate will serve as the first point of contact for staff seeking technical assistance, performing technical troubleshooting both remote and in person through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions. This position offers the opportunity to work with various technologies and provide essential IT support to our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technology support to all CFS end-users via phone, in person or remote
- Analyze and resolve help desk requests in a timely manner
- Perform computer tasks such as installations, configurations, updates, repairs
- Setup and configuration of local and network printers
- Assist in maintaining an inventory of all IT equipment
- Setup of thin clients and assisting staff with the related training
- Perform research, investigate issues, and execute solutions
- Ability to work well under the pressure of deadlines.
- Ability to work individually or as part of a project team.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures as reflected in the Policy & Procedure Manual.
- Performs other duties as requested and within areas of expertise.
- Works with other members of IT department to schedule and coordinate tasks
Competencies
- Good understanding of computers, laptops, printers{local/network}, mobile devices and other tech products
- Knowledge of networking equipment (modems, routers, switches, WiFi)
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Related experience and training in troubleshooting and providing help desk support
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational and communication skills (both written and oral)
- Customer-oriented, cool-tempered, technical/logical thought process.
- Working knowledge of Windows 10/11 OS, Office 365/MS Office Suite {MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.}, and virtual machines
- Valid NY/NJ Driver's license
- Extensive amount of travel is expected for this position. {Travel to and from auxiliary sites to perform technical assistance on a daily basis}
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's or Associates degree in a related field is preferred.
- 5+ years' experience with personal computers or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Salary and Benefits
$45,000 - $52,000 per year
