This is a full-time team science position in the Center for Innovative Design and Analysis and Department of Biostatistics and Informatics (DBI). This person will join a large group of master's and doctoral trained collaborative and consulting biostatisticians, bioinformaticians, and data scientists. The collaborative work for this position is with two or more major collaborative research groups on campus, and the Clinical and Translational Science Institute's Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Research Design Program. CIDA is a campuswide analytics center charged with leading analytics expertise and research for the Anschutz Medical Campus. This position will join 40+ master's, and PhD trained faculty in CIDA and over three-dozen faculty and research personnel in the Department of Biostatistics and Informatics. Research Associates interact and collaborate with health researchers on their basic science, clinical, and health science research projects. The Research Associate is a key research-faculty position in the Department. This is similar to team science track faculty positions at other institutions. A Research Associate is expected to provide high-level, professional and scientifically rigorous biostatistics consulting and collaboration support to biomedical researchers at CU Anschutz. They are expected to become a significant contributor in their collaborations and partnering to define and shape the research direction of the team. A person in this position works with investigators on the design and analytical aspects of the research process, including: design of new studies, structuring data collection systems, the application of state-of-the-art methodologies, analyses, and preparation of abstracts, oral and poster presentations, and scientific manuscripts. Depending on the particular collaborations interesting biostatistics/data science research opportunities may arise; although it is not the emphasis of the position. The Research Associate will be expected to develop leadership roles in their collaborations and become known for their areas of expertise across the campus and region. Key Responsibilities:
- Strong knowledge of basic statistical principles relevant in medical research.
- Strong knowledge of clinical trials study design.
- Evidence of an ability to conduct statistical methods research or investigate the validity of new methods and designs.
- Evidence of developing data analysis techniques or pipelines and applying them in new situations.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex problems and apply quantitative analytical approaches.
- Strong programming skills in multiple languages including SAS, R or others.
- Experience with high-performance computing environments.
- Good organizational skills across individual projects, managing own workload.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive attitude and the ability to work with a variety of biomedical investigators and colleagues.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- An innate desire to learn new methods and technologies and adapt to the demands of a fast paced and ever-evolving research environment.
- Ability to contribute to the growth and development of CIDA, their collaboration and the Department.

Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:
|
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- Ed.D. degree in Quantitative Policy Analysis in Education
- Expertise in longitudinal and missing data methods with applications to childhood development.
- Evidence of independent or collaborative research through publications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of consulting/collaborative research experience
- Multivariate statistical methods for scale development and validation using latent variable methods.
- Evidence of independent or collaborative research through publications.
- Experience in giving presentations and seminars at scientific meetings
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead the data analytic elements of clinical or translational research projects.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead the computational elements of multiple research projects simultaneously.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: $95,000 to $113,630 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
