Job Description

As our new Energy Engineer Intern, you will Join our Energy Consulting Services team and grow with our talented, driven professionals on unique and challenging projects. When you start with us, you'll be joining a company that strives to make a difference, for our employees, clients, and societies.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Energy planning projects within our Energy Consulting Services division in Ramboll Energy.
  • Conducting investigative energy assessments to identify energy and cost savings measures (ASHRAE Level 1-3 energy audits)
  • Performing utility billing and interval data analysis, and energy benchmarking
  • Conducting spreadsheet analysis to estimate energy and cost savings of proposed energy efficiency measures (EEMs)
  • Developing custom spreadsheet calculators and analysis tools
  • Developing construction cost estimates for EEMs and determining economic results (e.g., via simple payback period and life cycle cost analysis)
  • Utilizing building energy simulation modeling software (e.g., eQUEST/DOE-2.2, EnergyPlus) to assess savings potential of EEMs in existing facilities and optimize energy performance of new construction and substantial renovation projects
  • Assessing renewable energy potential at client sites
  • Working with and supporting company design engineers and construction managers to implement energy efficiency projects
  • Participating in the development of Clean Energy Master Plans and Decarbonization Plans
  • Summarizing engineering analyses/results in written reports (and planning documents) and presentations that are cohesive and of the highest quality
