SUMMARY: Drives electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, scoop, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or remove products, equipment, or materials. update database. Responsible for accuracy of shipping documents and computer data as stated in the SQF and SOP policy. Must be able to read, write, and speak ENGLISH (fluently and efficiently). Must have knowledge of or be capable to LEARN COMPUTER SKILLS and be Forklift Certified within Smithfield Foods. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Powered Industrial Truck operation - moves levers and pedals to drive truck and control movement oflifting apparatus. 2. Up-dates shipping database, and able to work with Computers and associated equipment. 3. Notifies supervisor or Quality Management department when any discrepancies occur (e.g. net weights, Lot Code, etc.) in accordance with SOP's, HACCP, and SQF Company procedures, etc. 4. Unloads and stack materials by raising and lowering lifting device. 5. Weighs materials or products and records weight on correct forms as stated in our SOP's. 6. Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids,boxes, products, or materials and transport load to designated area. 7. Unloads and stack materials by raising and lowering lifting device. 8. Loads and unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device. 9. Recharges batteries. 10. Other duties may be assigned. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Performs daily, weekly, monthly inventory counts. 2. May move materials on shipping dock with hand truck. 3. Perform various daily cleaning duties (e.g. cooler and freezer, S/R dock, and outside dock area, etc.).
