Overview

We are an industry leader in the development and production of single and multi-barrel gatling guns, individual crew-served weapons, ammunition handling systems, shipboard defense systems, gun pods and loaders.

The Senior Engineering Specialist is primarily responsible for using computer aided design tools to provide support in determining the best technical approach for developing solutions by applying creativity with design concepts. This support will be provided following the latest drafting and CAD modeling standards and processes. The candidate will participate in the development of such standards and practices to meet or exceed industry standards for the above including 3D Model Based Design, Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Life-cycle Management (PLM) systems. In addition, the candidate will be expected to assist with Model Based Enterprise efforts as applicable, with a proactive focus on continuous improvement initiatives.



Major Position Responsibilities

    Applies standard engineering techniques to design, analyze, test, maintain, repair, or improve products, components, or assemblies.
  • Analyzes, develops and evaluates systems.
  • Improves and maintains current systems or creates brand new projects.
  • Designs and drafts blueprints, visits systems in the field and manages projects.
  • Applies engineering techniques and analyses within the scope of the assignment.


Basic Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 5-7 years experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevent Engineering Education &/or Experience

Preferred Education: Associates Degree

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in the use of the latest Creo 10.0 and above, associated CAD file management (Intralink/Windchill) and other applicable hardware and software to perform in position
  • Awareness of latest industry standards as it relates to model based design
  • Able to manage priorities and complete tasks in accordance with project requirements and milestones
  • Able to discuss technical issues and communicate effectively with engineers, designers, management and other functions

Other Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
  • Demonstrated strong customer (internal and external) focus
  • ASME GD&T certification, technologist level followed by senior level
  • Design for cost, manufacturing and assembly experience

Travel: Less than 25% travel likely
