Location: Spokane, Washington

Type: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Full-time, On-Call, Nights and Weekends as needed

Compensation: $25.00 - $28.00/hour

Skookum is seeking a driven and motivated Operations Supervisor with a can-do attitude. . We are looking for a person in the local area who has strong leadership and organizational skills.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure company rules, regulations, and policies are followed by Floor/Janitor crew.

  • Assist Project Manager with assigning, coordinating, tracking, and managing employee work assignments.

  • Act as back-up to Project Manager for completion of daily reports and job order sheets.

  • Assist with evaluating employee performance for probationary and annual reviews.

  • Assist with ensuring QC inspections are corrected and followed up on in a timely manner.

  • Back up Janitorial and Floor Crew staff with janitorial and floor crew job duties.

  • Conduct employee performance reviews and implement motivation strategies, such as employee recognition.

  • Conduct weekly tailgate meetings and monthly corporate safety meetings.

  • Create annual work schedules and set up schedules with customers.

  • Ensure floor care services/janitorial services are completed per the assigned schedule created by the Janitor Supervisor.

  • Ensure all floor care and janitorial services are completed by contract requirements.

  • Must be able to work effectively under pressure and maintain stamina throughout the day.

  • Must be able to work, days, nights, and weekends as needed.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Monitor employee interactions and conduct document misconduct on designated Skookum forms.

  • Monitor employees to ensure efficient use of time, performance, and understanding of work tasks.

  • Assist Supervisors with customer service to meet customer demands.

  • Assist Supervisors with various reports e.g., schedules training, attendance, evaluations, various employee documentations, correct time keeping, and accident reporting.

  • Participate with rehabilitation of staff in the development and monitoring of individual evaluations, assessments and/or training programs.

  • Must be able to safely operate floor care machines for stripping, buffing, carpet shampooing, and extraction as needed.

  • Assist Manager with the responsibility of managing Skookum sites, government keys, phones, and vehicles. This includes assisting with issues, turning them in and securing said keys, phones, and vehicles. Ensure that buildings are secure, and safety measures are taken when exiting.

  • Meet with customers to view work requests and measure areas if needed for project estimates.

  • Order and track all supplies needed for floor crew and janitorial service work.

  • Measure and mix chemicals as needed.

  • Fill and empty mop buckets as needed.

  • Clean equipment after use as needed.

  • Must be able to safely use and maintain basic personal protective equipment such as hard hat, safety glasses, safety toe boots, hearing protection, and gloves.

  • Create and report daily job order sheets for daily reports.

Qualifications:

  • 3 -5 Years experience in Facilities Maintenance or Construction preferred.

  • Must be flexible and able to prioritize duties.

  • Consistently communicate with others in a courteous and helpful way.

  • You must be able to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers in a professional manner.

  • Must be able to follow verbal and/or written instructions. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum's insurance.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.

  • High School diploma/GED required.
