About Us

Liggett Group LLC, a manufacturer of tobacco products, is currently seeking an Electrician to join our team in Mebane, NC. This role is critical to maintaining and repairing electrical systems within our facility while ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency.

Position Summary

The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems in an industrial setting. This role requires expertise in industrial or construction electrical work, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with NEC guidelines.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting using testing devices to identify and resolve issues.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, single-line, and elementary drawings.
  • Install raceways, including cable trays, wireways, and various conduit types.
  • Respond to emergencies to resolve immediate safety concerns.
  • Participate in safety meetings and conduct facility inspections to identify maintenance needs.
  • Operate aerial lifts and climb ladders as required.
  • Utilize and interface with the Company's CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track maintenance activities.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, contractors, and vendors.
Minimum Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must be able to work first shift regularly, with occasional work outside of those hours, including 1-2 Saturdays per month.
  • Must be able to work in teams and collaborate effectively.
  • Minimum of five years of industrial or construction electrical experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office programs).
  • Excellent references regarding attendance, attitude, ability, willingness to learn, productivity, quality, safety, initiative, and sense of urgency.
  • Experience with voltages up to 480V.
  • Strong conduit and wiring skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Electrical license.
  • Technical degree from a technical institution.
  • Control wiring and troubleshooting experience.
  • Knowledge of safety precautions related to the electrical trade, including the proper use of safety equipment and test tools.
  • Experience conducting weekly facility walk-throughs to assess maintenance needs.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to climb ladders and lift moderately heavy loads.
  • Must be able to operate aerial lifts.
