0.8 FTE - Day Shifts

Starting Pay - $27.11 - $33.89 (Based on Experience)

Qualifications:



  • High school graduate
  • Completion of ophthalmic technician training program or a minimum of two years clinical ophthalmologic experience, preferred
  • Current Certification of Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certification of Paraoptometric Technician (CPOT) preferred; new employees will be given one year from date of hire to obtain COA or CPOT certification; employees must maintain current COA or CPOT certification; certifications obtained through Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO)
  • Current BLS certification


Job Responsibilities:



  • Performs objective and subjective ophthalmic testing including visual fields, A-scans, keratometry, lensometry, fundus photography, tonometry, contact lens fitting, and refractometry.
  • Assists with ordering contact lens and education to patients.
  • Maintains proficiency with software products.
  • Seeks out and attends educational opportunities as credits for certification and to enhance ophthalmology knowledge and skills.
  • Assists with training new staff.
  • Demonstrates accountability and responsibility in time management and task completion.
  • Demonstrates accountability in documentation and charging for services.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Assists physicians with surgical procedures in office and same-day-surgery at the hospital.
  • Other duties as assigned.
