Providence St. Joseph Health is calling an RN Care Manager to work from our Holy Family Hospital in Spokane, WA.

The Registered Nurse (RN) Care Manager provides professional, comprehensive, patient centric care management services for at risk patients in an acute care environment. Accountabilities include assessment and planning, coordination of care, resource utilization management and/ or review, discharge planning, documentation of interventions, regulatory compliance and patient advocacy. The goal of the Inpatient Care Management RN is to ensure the use of appropriate healthcare resources throughout the continuum, so that the care provided is the right care, at the right time, in the right setting.

Required qualifications:



  • Associate's Degree in Nursing degree/diploma upon hire or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or higher within 3 years of hire. Or equivalent education/experience
  • An RN with 20 years of RN experience will not be required to obtain a BSN. RNs employed prior to 1/1/17 are encouraged to obtain a bachelor's degree or higher in nursing, but obtaining the degree will not be a condition of employment
  • Washington Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • 2 years Acute care experience in a Medical Surgical or Inpatient setting.
  • If performing UR functions, must pass annual Interrater Reliability Testing with a minimal score of 85%.


Preferred qualifications:



  • National Certification in area of specialty.
  • Experience in computer technology, laptops, Microsoft Office products.
  • 1 year experience in care management or utilization review in any setting or successful completion of TIPS program or Case Management Orientation Program
