Are you our next Project Manager?

This role reports directly to the Production Manager and is based onsite at our Grayling, MI, Atlas Copco - Air Way Feed Systems facility. In this position, you will engage in regular client interactions, providing detailed and time-sensitive project status updates to high-profile automotive customers. You will oversee project sign-off approvals and ready-to-ship statuses and closely monitor timelines and budgets while proactively identifying and addressing potential obstacles to ensure successful project completion.

Here's how you'll make an impact:

  • Serve as a key team member to ensure customer project deadlines are achieved.
  • Organize and lead weekly project management meetings to align all project members on deliverables, timelines, and status updates, including delays.
  • Develop and maintain project management tools and spreadsheets to track the status of a high volume of projects.
  • Evaluate and communicate the impact of scope changes to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with customers to ensure all necessary resources are prepared for successful delivery.
  • Plan project timelines and integrate them effectively into the pipeline to meet customer delivery expectations.
  • Build and nurture strong, effective relationships with customer contacts.
  • Collect, organize, and archive key customer correspondence and documents.
  • Coordinate customer site visits for project status updates or sign-off meetings.
  • Stay updated on internal and external project processes, including testing, engineering design timelines, and build schedules.
  • Escalate issues professionally and facilitate timely resolutions to ensure project success.
To Succeed, You Will Need:
  • Proven project management experience, including managing scope, budgets, schedules, resolving issues, and reporting progress. Experience in the automotive industry or with Tier One automotive suppliers is highly preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or certification in engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
  • Mechanical aptitude and solid math skills.
  • Exceptional client interaction skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build positive relationships, even when delivering difficult updates.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
  • Proficiency in computer software at an intermediate level.
  • Flexibility to take on additional workload during busy periods to meet deadlines and production needs.
