DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In the role of Clerical Assistant 3, your communication skills will be key as you answer incoming phone calls, take messages, and refer clients to appropriate personnel. You will use your knowledge of PA labor laws to answer questions that the Bureau receives through phone calls, emails, and other correspondence, maintaining knowledge of Bureau of Labor Law Compliance operations. You will have the opportunity to review, process, and reply to all correspondences regarding Certificates for Minimum Wage, or applications for permits or waivers regarding the Child Labor Act. Additional key responsibilities include:
- Processing incoming mail and bills
- Compiling reports
- Navigating SAP software, and other computer support programs
- Inputting and retrieving data from agency databases

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or
- One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must possess at least one year of experience answering and assisting with incoming phone calls.
- You must possess at least one year of experience providing clerical/administrative support.
- You must possess working experience with Microsoft Office Suite, such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- You must demonstrate ability to work with professionalism, discretion, and good work ethic.
- You must have solid written and verbal communication skills.
- You must show initiative and problem-solving skills.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualification (not required):
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
