Job Summary |
The Enterprise Project Manager
III works within the Office of Strategic Services and is responsible for managing Information Technology related project(s), from concept through delivery. This role will be responsible for the planning, execution, and rollout of top priority IT initiatives. The Enterprise Project Manager
III role will also be involved with maturing the project management methodology, policies, processes, tools and templates, and governance to contribute to successful delivery of projects within the Office of Information Technology at
UTD. |
Minimum Education and Experience |
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or related field.
Minimum eight (8) years direct work experience in project management, including all aspects of process development and execution. |
Preferred Education and Experience |
- Expert understanding of Project Management methodologies to include Agile, Project Management Body of Knowledge and Project Management Institute standards.
- Expert communicator capable of building strong relationships, resolving conflicts, and keeping resources aligned to project goals.
- Servant leader with the ability to build, motivate and coach self-organizing teams.
- High attention to detail in creating actionable plans and delivery of quality products.
- Must possess strong leadership abilities with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
CSM or PMP certification required.- Expertise with Team Dynamix (TDX) and Jira project management software.
- Expertise with MS Office including Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
- Experience working in higher education preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
- Set priorities and define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with IT leadership and stakeholders.
- Drive projects from both a tactical and strategic perspective. Coordinate with cross functional business units and internal departments to achieve project goals.
- Develop full-scale actionable project plans and associated communications documents using appropriate tools. Track project milestones and deliverables.
- Build relationships and communicate project expectations and status to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
- Create project budgets, track the financials, and recommend budget changes when necessary.
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
- Identify and manage project dependencies, risks, and critical path.
- Communication at leadership levels as needed by the project including ability to create/deliver presentations.
- Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
- Proactively manage change in project scope, timeline, or cost, and devise contingency plans.
- Define, track, and communicate project success criteria and benefits throughout the project life cycle.
- Conduct continuous improvement reviews and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Work with the OIT Executive Leadership team to continuously improve delivery management capabilities to aid in the prioritization of work and decision-making.
- Learn, train, and evangelize the use of the Project Portfolio Management tool.
