National Indemnity Company is seeking an immediate Resilience Intern to join our team. This internship will give the qualified candidate an opportunity to obtain valuable experience and competitive pay.

The Resilience Intern will have day to day involvement in the Company's business continuity and disaster recovery program. They work with stakeholders to develop and update business continuity plans and initiatives across the organization. These initiatives include activities and functions designed to enhance and support the company's Resilience Program, including but not limited to business continuity, disaster recovery, and crisis management

Hours:

  • Flexible; Between 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • 15-25 hours per week, depending on the applicant's schedule
  • Up to 40 hours per week in the summer, depending on the applicant's schedule

Duties include:

  • Updating and maintaining various Excel spreadsheets and Word documents related to Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Plans and Initiatives
  • Regularly meeting with business process owners to gather information on departmental business continuity plans for all Company office locations. Working with program leadership on training opportunities for designated individuals on process updates
  • Participates as a scribe with the CAT/MAT teams in business continuity and disaster recovery live events and practice exercises, including drills, tabletops, department specific tests, and training. Assists in the development of exercises with other Company Resilience professionals to test and refine continuity strategies.
  • Proactively monitors and notifies Resilience Leadership of current and developing interruption threats. Identifies potential business operation continuity risks and collaborates with Resilience Leadership on possible counters to identified threats.
  • Works with the Safety Committee on crisis and emergency management initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree seeking students, with at least Sophomore standing
  • 2 years of education in Risk Management, Emergency Management, or Resilience or equivalent work experience
  • Understanding of Principles of Operational Resilience
  • Understanding of Emergency Management Standards
  • Proficiency with personal computer and related software
  • Excellent oral and written communication with all levels of the organization and with Agents
  • Desire to provide excellent customer service
  • Strong aptitude to identify problems and make decisions, train personnel, and organize workflows.
  • Ability to organize one's time and resources, handling multiple high priority tasks while delegating, planning, and meeting strict deadlines.
