Job Description:

The primary objective ofImprovement Facilitator is to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of all improvement aspects within their area of responsibilityat the Jackson Mill.

Duties & Responsibilities:




  • Identify opportunities for improvement within his/her area of responsibility and approve standards developed from these efforts



  • Responsible for developing and implementing activities that support the annual action plan specifically as they relate to improvement projects



  • Design or develop new or alterations to existing structures, systems, and equipment



  • Provide timely and accurate cost estimates on proposed improvement efforts



  • Support and participate in CAPEX projects



  • Develop and coach employees capabilities and knowledge in the application of QIS methodology and participate as required in QIS events



  • Participate and contribute to the achievement of department goals including goal setting



  • Serve as a resource to facilitate the vertical and horizontal help chain



  • Responsible for data entry into GMR and/or other systems utilized for tracking goals and projects



  • Assist with safety related activities within the area





The Individual:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of practical training pertaining to scrap processing, melting, casting, rolling, maintenance, finishing, and/or shipping/warehouse operations, and to include some supervisory and facilitation experience.
  • Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the business system and of steel manufacturing methods and techniques involving the use of heavy mill machinery and related equipment.
