Department Overview

Enterprise Health and Safety (EH&S) consists of PG&E's Regional Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Transportation and Contractor Safety, PG&E's Safety Excellence Management System (PSEMS), Enterprise Corrective Action Program (eCAP), and PG&E Academy. The team collaborates with our enterprise partners to implement safety programs to support the regional safety model, workforce safety (including contractor safety), public safety and transportation safety. The team develops and maintains safety standards, assesses enterprise safety culture, and oversees PSEMS. Additionally, the EH&S team facilitates the enterprise corrective action program, an Enterprise Program that is trusted, valued, and effectively used to identify, evaluate, trend, and track resolution of known and perceived issues. Finally, the PG&E Academy ensures our coworkers have the knowledge and skills to safely and compliantly perform their work through strategically developed and delivered training programs.

Position Summary

Ensures PG&E Academy's technical training delivery programs and operation align with all State/Federal regulations, Union contracts, Company standards and work procedures, and PG&E Academy Standards, Tools, and Templates for delivery of technical training at the highest level of safety and performance standards.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of thejob posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will bebased on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience,market value, geographic location, and internal equity.Although we estimatethe successful candidate hiredinto this rolewill be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decisionwill be made on a case-by-casebasis related tothese factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

California Minimum: $122,000

California Maximum: $207,000

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities will include primarily tactical functions, with some strategic functions, such as planning, organizing, staffing, budgeting and coordinating day to day operations.
  • Works closely with line of business leadership, curriculum development, and operations teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of PG&E learning solutions that meet our company's goals and needs.
  • Effectively find solutions to issues and risks presented by team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Supervise an experienced team of internal and contract instructors delivering both equipment and technical training serving both lines of business and department goals.
  • Coach and develop team members in order to reach team and individual goals and strengthen core competencies.
  • Build and maintain a skilled delivery instructor workforce by hiring high potential candidates and placing the right people in the right jobs.
  • Create and implement team strategies to ensure work is executed on time, on target and on budget.
  • Plan, establish and maintain scheduling in conjunction with operations partners to maximize instructor booking efficiency and quality, adhere to budget and achieve results-driven learning solution goal.
  • Fill in as backup, for training courses relative to OSHA, performance objectives and instructor absences
  • Interface with client for course and training material feedback. Make suggestions for improvements and changes to curriculum as needed.
  • Supervises staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection training and development, performance management and coaching, and rewards and recognition

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School Graduate, or at least 5 years of utility journeyman experience.
  • 3-5 years working as a technical trainer for a utility company with unions (or other regulated company) or 10+ years in trade with experience in technical training
  • The ability to travel among local offices approximately at least 10% of the time.

Desired:

  • Job-related experience, 10 years
  • Experience in union environment
  • CompTIA-Computing Technology Industry Association CTT-Certified Technical Trainer certification
