Shive-Hattery has an exciting opportunity for a Design Professional - Civil to join our Transportation and Municipal practice in the West Des Moines, IA office. We welcome applications from recent graduates and early-career professionals with up to three years of experience. As part of our Public Infrastructure - Transportation team, you will gain hands-on experience in transportation, public infrastructure, and utility design, directly contributing to impactful projects in the communities where we live and work. This role offers essential experience toward professional licensure and provides a strong foundation for your career. Join our collaborative team of engineers, where you'll actively contribute to meaningful transportation and municipal projects. Initially, you'll focus on public infrastructure, but our diverse practice provides opportunities to engage across various sectors, including industrial, healthcare, K-12 education, commercial, and government projects. You'll be instrumental in preparing CAD drawings, technical reports, construction plans, cost opinions, and detailed specifications. Your design responsibilities will span roadway, trail, and parking lot development, as well as site grading and stormwater management solutions. You'll also gain experience in designing construction phasing, traffic control plans, and other integral site design elements. Additionally, you'll participate in onsite construction administration and observation, gaining practical insights into contractor compliance and firsthand understanding of how your designs come to life.
