The Role

The Digital Engineering Group promotes a holistic approach to design and construction model-based services and technologies. The group defines the company strategy around the use of BIMs, data integration across models and departments, and cultural change across project teams to realize significant risk reduction on construction cost and schedule. The Digital Engineering Visualizations Team is responsible for 3D visualization efforts nationally. Working closely with the Business Development, Pursuit Marketing, and Operations, the team provides logistics plans and models, renderings, animations, 4D schedules, and VR/AR/MR content to support the pursuit of new business. This team also supports Suffolk Project Teams with visualizations to support decision making on complex construction activities.



Responsibilities

    Produce best-in-class content that promotes Suffolk both internally and externally, including but not limited to logistics plans, renderings, case study material, animations, 4D schedules, and VR/AR/MR simulations.
  • Manage dynamic and fast paced workload with an ability to effectively prioritize based on business objectives and resources.
  • Meet all internal and external client deadlines.
  • Develop 3D & 4D Site Safety & Logistics models; collecting data from projects sites and incorporating construction knowledge into plans.
  • Develop construction sequence 3D & 4D models, including constructability analysis, spatial coordination considerations and incorporating safety measures.
  • Construction systems modeling includes structural, architectural, MEPFP systems, and General Requirements.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet/exceeds expectations and adhere to company graphic standards.
  • Provide training and support of software and tools to project teams.
  • Proactively develop and maintain relationships with new and existing project teams.


Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in an accredited industry related curriculum.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of VDC related design and/or construction experience with demonstrated progression of technical knowledge and responsibilities.
  • Thorough understanding of general construction techniques and systems, with a focus on site safety and logistics planning.
  • Strong written and oral communication.
  • Strong capability in 3D parametric modeling software (Revit at a minimum). Ability to produce site safety and logistics models, creation of custom Revit families, 4D simulations integrating construction schedule, and rendering high quality images of models.
