MVD Engineer

Atlas Tech is currently looking for a seasoned Sr. Virtual Desktop Engineer with extensive experience in Manta Virtual Desktop solutions and USCG VDI environments. The successful candidate will be tasked with designing, implementing, and managing our virtual desktop infrastructure, ensuring it meets the high standards and specific requirements of the US Coast Guard Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (USCG VDI). This role requires a strategic thinker and technical expert dedicated to optimizing our virtual desktop solutions for enhanced performance and security.

You Will:

• Design, deploy, and maintain Manta Virtual Desktop environments, ensuring they are robust, secure, and efficient.
• Oversee and manage USCG VDI infrastructure, ensuring compliance with US Coast Guard standards and requirements.
• Lead and execute projects aimed at upgrading and enhancing virtual desktop infrastructure to meet evolving organizational needs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to both Manta Virtual Desktops and USCG VDI environments.
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to develop and enforce best practices for virtual desktop management, user support, and security.
• Monitor system performance, conducting regular analyses to identify and mitigate potential bottlenecks or vulnerabilities.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of virtual desktop environments, configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Provide expert-level support and training to IT personnel and end-users, ensuring a high level of user satisfaction and operational efficiency.
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes affecting virtual desktop infrastructure.

You Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Active SECRET Clearance. Possession of and the ability to maintain a minimum of a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Level Security Clearance
• United States Citizenship
• Willingness to be onsite (up to 2 days per week); exceptions will be considered.
• At least 5 years of experience in virtual desktop engineering, with specific experience in Manta Virtual Desktop solutions.
• Proven experience working with USCG VDI, understanding its unique requirements and compliance standards.
• Strong expertise in virtualization technologies, including VDI, hypervisors, and supporting infrastructure.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with a track record of effectively troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working efficiently in a team-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated project management experience, successfully leading and implementing IT infrastructure projects.
• Solid understanding of network protocols, cybersecurity principles, and best practices in virtual desktop environments.
• Relevant certifications, such as Manta VDI Certified Professional and/or certifications related to USCG VDI, are highly desirable.
• Current Security +, CISSP, CISM, or CASP Certification
