Role Summary:



  • The candidate will be placed in an interdisciplinary team working towards autonomous driving functions.
  • The intern will research and develop path-following and vehicle motion planning algorithm.
  • The internship offers hands-on experience in evaluating and implementing algorithms to enhance vehicle control smoothness.


Role Responsibilities:



  • Engage in a motion planning project encompassing online path replanning and control signal optimization.
  • Research and assess various motion controller algorithms.
  • Implement and refine algorithms in C++ using quadratic programming framework.
  • Integrate and optimize source code for prototype vehicle applications.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education-Required:



  • Must be a master's or Ph.D. student enrolled at a University/College or Graduation date must be within the last six months.


Skills:



  • Fundamental understanding of controllers such as Model Predictive Control (MPC).
  • Strong background in C++.
  • Experience with ROS/ROS2 framework.
  • Familiarity with quadratic programming frameworks or parallel programming frameworks.
  • Fluent in English, German is a plus.


In San Jose, California, the hourly rates for this role are based on level of education:



  • Undergraduate (Junior or Senior): $35/hour
  • Graduate (Master's): $38/hour
  • PhD: $42/hour
