We are currently seeking an APG Field Engineer to support our Aberdeen Proving Ground customer. This position is a full-time on customer site opportunity.

Duties:


  • Reviews, analyzes, and designs lab-based test networks for various small and large-scale militarized computer systems and systems of systems (SoS). Design may include specialized coding, instrumentation connectivity, API and data bridges.
  • Maintains and develops online and batch application programs.
  • Develops and implements a disaster recovery plan. Works with project members to develop system specifications, network/system diagrams and flowcharts as necessary.
  • Has strong knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures for network testing and will adapt that knowledge to lab or controlled field based testing.
  • Maintain a positive professional work atmosphere Must perform work activities requiring interaction, negotiating, instructing, supervising and speaking with others.
  • Be able to work under supervision and respond appropriately and professionally to criticism from a supervisor.

Required Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in a related area.


Required Experience:


  • 12 years of experience in the field or in a related area. OR any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Preferred Skills and Qualifications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of computer systems, hardware and hardware interfaces, software code, peripheral interfaces, communications protocols.
  • Understanding of Microsoft and Linux operating systems.
  • Network+, A+, Security+
  • Read and understand engineering documentation, technical specifications and product capability documentation as it relates to network and tactical military communications.
  • Utilize product engineering and technical specifications to develop and instrument specialized lab-based communications networks.
  • Able to self-manage with the ability to work in a team environment and/or lead cross functional teams as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on tight schedules, and still provide high quality work.
  • Advanced Oral and Written communication skills.
  • Able to lead or work in a cross-functional team environment and interface with engineers in various disciplines.


Travel Requirements:

  • Wil be required to travel on a regular basis and for extended periods (more than 2 weeks).

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $84,707.20 to $127,060.80 (annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems' total compensation package.
