About the Opportunity

The Manager, College Access and FAFSA Outreach Initiatives will serve as a member of the Grants, Training and Outreach division staff, reporting to the Associate Director for Outreach. The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate and conduct outreach efforts of the State Education Assistance Authority that are designed to assist students and families by promoting FAFSA completion, and an understanding of how to pay for college; and offering activities designed to increase the college-going rate in North Carolina, with special emphasis on serving adult learners. The position will be responsible for program administration, including but not limited to Finish the FAFSA, the NC FAFSA Tracker, and the CFNC scholarship portal; organization of the Fall FAFSA Day logistics and February Financial Aid Awareness month, as well as managing and presenting programs designed to increase awareness of the availability of student financial aid, and to promote completion of the FAFSA; and managing SEAA outreach communications.

This position is expected to work on-site at least three days per week and may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, consistent with System Office policy. North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority (NCSEAA) employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

About the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority

The North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority (NCSEAA), an agency of the State of North Carolina, is authorized by the General Assembly to plan, finance and administer student financial assistance programs of a statewide or inter-institutional nature. It serves students attending public and private two- and four-year colleges and universities in North Carolina, as well as families of students attending nonpublic K-12 schools.

About the Team

The Outreach and Communications Division administers over 30 aid programs awarding over $350 million to approximately 150,000 K12 and college students each year. The Division also conducts FAFSA outreach programs to educate and assist North Carolina students and families with paying for college and offers training programs for financial aid professionals and school counselors

Minimum Education, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Competencies
Minimum of bachelor's degree; master's or other advanced degree preferred. Spanish-speaking fluency preferred. -Experience taking the initiative to organize and implement new programs, presenting to groups, both virtually and in person. Commitment to quality and innovation; excellent written and oral communication skills; and being comfortable analyzing data, presenting it visually and explaining data nuances to education stakeholders.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills

Strong commitment to and knowledge of college access services, FAFSA completion, and student financial aid. College access experience in the areas of college admissions, financial aid, or high school counseling services with a focus on FAFSA completion.
