Crissair, Inc. is looking for an experienced Inspector to join our Quality team in the Receiving Inspection area. The ideal candidate has one to three years of previous experience inspecting aerospace components.

Summary

Responsible for performing and recording dimensional and visual inspection of parts, assemblies, and final product in coordination with the Engineering, Production, and Manufacturing Engineering departments.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other tasks and duties may be required as directed.

* Conduct all levels of product inspections using a variety of inspection instruments and equipment (e.g. CMM, micrometers, calipers, parallels, sine bars, height masters, optical comparator, Johnson gauges, etc.)

* Required to perform both detailed, assembly-level drawings with appropriate supporting documentation verifying actual results against drawing and/or specification requirements.

* Verify supplier approval status and certifications against drawing and/or specification requirements for accuracy and completeness.

* Ability to understand and conform to internal company procedures.

* Correctly read and interpret detailed, assembly-level drawings and customer specifications.

* Required to mentor inspectors, as needed.

* Ability to effectively inspect product using basic inspection tools, which may include, but not limited to, micrometers, bore gages, height gages, etc.

* Required to use statistical process control (SPC) symbols and tools along with correct interpretation of associated control plans and charts.

* Required to use shop mathematical calculations relative to the complexity of the project (e.g., tolerance stack-ups, calculations for areas, angles, lengths, etc.)

* Verify compliance of finished hardware with drawing requirements based on shop practices as they relate to unfinished hardware.

* Required to meet deadlines of assigned jobs while maintaining the integrity of the position.

* Work closely with customer representatives during source inspections and audits.

* Execute formal first article reports to AS9102 standards.

* Seek lean process improvements.

* Have working knowledge of raw materials, casting, forging layouts, and internal/external thread inspection.

Qualification Requirements

Education/Experience

* High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and one to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

* Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.

* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

* Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints and technical specifications.

* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

* Ability to speak effectively before small groups of customers or employees.

Math Skills

* Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry and read decimals down to the millionth of an inch.

* Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Skills

* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

* Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
