POSITION SUMMARY:
KEMRON is seeking a Senior Project Manager who is responsible for managing environmental investigation and remediation projects ranging from preliminary assessment to remediation of contaminated properties. Supervises project engineers, project geologists/scientists, engineers, field technicians, site superintendent and craft labor in the course of project execution.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:



  • Manage/supervise project engineers/scientists, site supervisors and craft labor
  • Manage/execute subcontracts (i.e., teaming partner, laboratory, driller, abatement/demolition contractor, injection contractor etc.)
  • Delegate work and assignments to team members based on expertise, work experience, and time constraints
  • Review technical reports pertaining to site assessment, inspection, or remediation
  • Coordinate/supervise investigation activities and remedial actions
  • Possess knowledge of environmental regulations (i.e., CERLCA/RCRA and asbestos abatement/demolition)
  • Forecast Estimate to Complete based on incurred costs and remaining work activities
  • Update burn schedule for field activities in conjunction with site superintendent
  • Interface with clients and regulators and serve as KEMRON's primary point of contact
  • Track progress of multiple projects including costs using Microsoft Project 2000 software
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, track project costs, and invoice clients
  • Prepare work plans and proposals for additional assessment or remediation work
  • Maintain risk register from estimate and provide recommendations for mitigation of risk
  • Oversee performance of subcontractors
  • Negotiate/resolve subcontractor disputes
  • Coordinate field activities of subcontractors and field staff
  • Participate in routine conference calls with QA/QC staff
  • Manage/supervise project engineers, project scientists, and field technicians

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or Geology required
  • PE or PG registration preferred
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience managing environmental remediation projects involving landfills and removal of radiological contaminated soil.
  • Ability to prepare and review written technical reports
  • Ability to manage subcontractors and negotiate/resolve subcontractor disputes
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, track costs, forecast costs at completion, and prepare/review invoices
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Certificate required
  • 8-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Annual Updates required
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to plan for, and meet deadlines
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills are a must
  • Must have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics SL and SharePoint a plus
  • Must possess the following personality traits:

WORK CONTEXT/PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:



  • Must be able to travel to project jobsites in Chicago area and through the Midwest
  • Must be able to support up to one week in the field at a time during startup of and execution of field activities to provide quality control and cost management
  • Must be able to occasionally work in outdoor conditions that may include inclement weather, such as heat and humidity, rain, extreme cold with snow/ice
  • Must be able to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned tasks
